Katsina State Police Command has rescued six kidnapping victims at Unguwan Dako, Tandama village in Danja LGA of the state.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, stated that the operatives acted on a credible intelligence and raided the bandits’ hideout located at Tandama village, around 5:30 am on Saturday, and rescued the abducted persons.

He identified the abductees as Garba Dan-Mallam, Rabiu Idris, and Abba Samaila — all of Unguwar Nuhu LGA — as well as Yunusa Sani, Ishaq Yakub, and Danjuma Samaila — of Layin Sani village, Kafur.

The police spokesman added that in a separate operation carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), eight suspected bandits, including one Abdulkarim Faca-Faca, identified as a leader of the bandits, were killed during a raid.

“This morning, in the same area, our operatives embarked on mop-up operation as the terrorists fled, but all their rustled cows perished as many escaped with bullet wounds,” he added.

The development comes amid reports of attacks in Katsina state and other parts of the country.
