Kwankwaso, Shekarau seal political consensus against APC

Former Kano State Governor and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso visited Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s home to finalize the latter’s defection to NNPP.

Sources at the visit told this reporter that the two bigwizs of Kano politics have reaches final agreement that will see Shekarau and his teaming supporters cross to the NNPP.

According to the source, the official announcement will take place on Monday, as previously stated.

Shekarau has been at loggerheads with the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, leading to the formation of a faction within the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

SAHELIAN TIMES reported that Shekarau had concluded plans to defect to the Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso-led New NNPP.

However, a visit by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje forced a temporary halt to the move.

Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, Shekarau’s spokesperson, Sule Ya’u Sule confirmed that the declaration has been suspended from “today Saturday but is due to take place on Monday.

He however refused to disclose why the event was suspended a few hours to the earlier announced time.
