Ex-Arsenal center-forward, Alex Lacazette, has been officially unveiled as a Lyon player. Lacazette, who was once a player of the French side returned to his former club after spending five seasons at Arsenal.
Until the end of his Arsenal spell, the player contributed 107 goals and assists in 206 appearances for English team. He also played a vital role in the team’s 2020 FA cup feat.
However, his time at the Emirates was not entirely a smooth one as it was filled with many ups and downs. The player had to adjust to 3 managerial changes during his time at the club. He also featured in the Europa league final defeat to Chelsea in Baku. Nevertheless, his work-rate and ability to turn up in big occasions made him loved by the Arsenal Fans. Laca’s leadership skills on and off the pitch convinced Mikel to make him the Arsenal captain in his final season.
In his farewell message to Arsenal, Lacazette described playing for the club as a dream come true.
For Lyon, Laca’s return is a homecoming as they believe he is still very familiar with the club’s culture and can be very vital for their future success. Hence, offering him a 3-year contract.
