The Lagos State Government has said that the Marine Bridge will be partially closed from Monday, January 17 to Saturday, April 2, 2022, for emergency infrastructure repairs.

It also revealed plans to divert traffic on Dopemu Road in the Agege area of the state for three months beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, for the rehabilitation and upgrade of Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road.

According to Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, Commissioner of Transportation, the partial closure of the Marine Bridge is to allow the Federal Government to perform routine maintenance on the bridge infrastructure.

Oladeinde reaffirmed that alternative routes were in motorable condition and would not cause any difficulties for motorists, assuring that LASTMA personnel would be stationed at the diversion routes to ensure efficient traffic management.

He, however, urged motorists to be patient as the measures taken are aimed at providing quality and safe road infrastructure for everyone.
