Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammad, said that the Nigerian government will not investigate the retired service chiefs.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, Lai said the there are internal ways which the government will follow to settle allegations of infractions if they exist.

The opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other prominent individuals had called on the International Criminal Court and other bodies to investigate the retired service chiefs over the worsening insecurity during their time.

However, Lai insisted that, “The retired service chiefs exercised their duty diligently, they followed rule of law and if there is anything that needs to be investigated, there are internal ways to deal with the matter”

He also lambasted those that are calling on the government to launch an investigation, saying that they are not patriotic Nigerians.
