Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the erstwhile Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and AntiCorruption Commission( PCACC) has shunned the invitation of the state anti-graft agency over allegations of land racketeering, reported by Mr. Isa Bayero, popularly known as Isa Pilot.

According to sources familiar with the scandal, Bayero had submitted a petition to PCACC outlining how the Magaji allegedly benefitted from funds from the sales of Gandun Sarki estate plots owned by Kano Emirate Council.

SAHELIAN TIMES learned that Rimin Gado had carted away the files containing details about how he handled the case.

As a result, the current chairman, Mahmoud Balarabe, was left with no choice but to summon Rimin Gado for questioning.

After learning that Rimin Gado declined the invitation, SAHELIAN contacted Balarabe, who declined to comment, stating that the commission is still investigating the case.

A source close to Rimin Gado confirmed that he took the case file with him, saying that he did so to protect the image and reputation of many “big names” in the state.

Our correspondent also learned that Rimin Gado intends to make the details of the case public.

“The Chairman will most likely call a press conference and name those involved in the case, including members of the government and many prominent Emirate Council members,” the source said.

Rimin Gado didn’t respond to calls and WhatsApp messages at the time of writing this report.
