Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been relieved of his duties as Manchester United manager, pending official confirmation. Ole made significant progress with the squad after taking over as head coach in 2018, but he did not win any significant silverware. Many of his inconsistencies as a coach became apparent as more key players who performed at the highest level arrived. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was clearly in over his head from the start of the season, with dismal results against any club in every tournament.

Earlier today, he stated that a poor result against Watford following the international break would almost certainly end his tenure. After a 4-1 defeat, Solskjaer approached the fans to apologize for the result, knowing his fate was likely sealed. The board of directors called for an emergency meeting to reach the terms of Solskjaer’s exit from the club. After five hours of talks, they came out with the decision to relieve Ole from his managerial duties. Fabrizio Romano was the first one who broke the news, Solskjaer won’t continue as Manchester United’s manager. While options are considered, Darren Fletcher is expected to take the job as interim manager.
