Many people have been injured in a blast suspected to be a bomb in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital.

The incident allegedly occurred on Friday night in Nukkai neighborhood.

The police public relations officer (PPRO) in Taraba Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident.

According to the police spokesperson, no one was killed in the incident, though a few persons were injured.

“As God may have it, we were very lucky there was no casualty. There were slight bruises, but the impact was not serious,” he said.

The incident comes just days after six people were killed and several others were injured in an explosion in the state’s Iware community.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday at a local public bar in the state’s Ardo Kola LGA’s Iware market axis, was suspected to have been caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).

In recent weeks, Taraba communities have been attacked, with killings and kidnappings reported.
