The Medical Dental Council of Nigeria has suspended Dr. Anuoluwapo Olufunmi Adepoju from the medical profession, pending further determination of her case before the Medical and Dental Tribunal.
Dr. Adepoju was suspened for carrying out a plastic reconstructive surgery procedure on a patient who developed complications and died.
The suspension order was issued by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel pursuant to the powers conferred on it by s15(3)c of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act Cap M8 LFN 2004.
Dr. Adepoju, a 2017 medical graduate from College of Medicine, University of Lagos, carried out the procedure when she was a House Officer.
Her suspension will be in effect, pending the final determination of the case by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal
