More Boko Haram fighters, families surrender to Nigerian troops- Army

Another set of Boko Haram insurgents and their families, including children, have surrendered to the troops of Forward Operational Base (FOB) operating along Bocobs-Bama Road, Borno State.

The insurgent comprising of 19 adult males, 19 adult females and 49 children from Njimia, Alafa – axis of Sambisa forest surrendered around 06:52 a.m. on Monday.

This was according to a wireless message sent to 7 Division, Section 1 Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).

The army said eight AK-47 rifles, one general-purpose machine gun, Weapon Alpha, one Dane gun, one Makarov pistol, ammunitions and magazine, two hand grenades, 27 Ak-47 rifle magazines, one pistol magazine, one 60MM mortar bomb and 10X14.5MM empty cases, one plier, three matchboxes, two syringes, two needles, one pack of infusion set, and N55,000 were recovered from them.

Additionally, two primed vests, 72 trigger switches, 10 Improvised Explosive Device, detonating cord, six-packs of water gel explosive, six mobile phones, one camera camel pack, one camouflage bag, two hard drives, and two scissors were recovered.
