More trouble in APC as states conduct multiple congresses

The lingering crisis in the ruling All progressive Congress (APC) manifested it’s ugly head at the weekend following the conduct of multiple congresses across the states.

 

Checks by Sahelian Times indicate that so far, about 12 states have parallel party executives emanating from the congress conducted on Saturday.

 

Akwa Ibom lead the pack having producing three separate executives while 11 other states including Kano, Bauchi, kwara and Ogun have two executives each.

 

Other states with multiple executives include Abia, Niger, Ekiti, Imo and Osun states.

 

In Kano state, the former caretaker Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas returned as the substantive chairman in a faction with the state Governor and eome other national assembly members in attendance.

 

In the other faction, led by a former Governor of the state and senator representing Kano Central District, Ibrahim shekarau along with senator Barau Jibrin produces Alhaji Haruna Ahmadu Danzago as their chairman.

 

Ironically, each of the faction were fully represented by both the National Secretariat of the party as well as INEC in the conduct of the exercise
