A fighter jet belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) launched a fresh attack on the enclave of Zamfara bandit leader, Bello Turji.

According to Daily Trust, the attack came after the notorious bandit narrowly escaped aerial bombardment on his home, Saturday afternoon.

The source added that the fighter jet returned to the area around 9am on Monday, dropping at least two bombs.

According to the paper, on Monday, Turji and most of his close associates escaped the Saturday attack, having left the spot to observe the afternoon prayer (zuhr) just before the strikes.

The escape on Saturday was the second time the bandit leader had escaped such an assault. In December 2021, a NAF bomb targeted at his camp hit some of his fighters, wounding many and killing at least one person.

The bomb was said to have been dropped moments after Turji had left his house.
