NCC to hold public inquiries on operating levy, frequency spectrum regulations July 29

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in exercise of its statutory functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act) earlier had published the draft regulatory instruments on its Web site www.ncc.gov.ng  June 4, 2021, for stakeholders’ comments.

The telecoms regulatory Commission has stated the documents are Annual Operating Levy Regulations (as amended); and Frequency Spectrum (Fees and Pricing, etc.) Regulations (as amended).

Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director of Public Affairs of the Commission, in an updated  notice issued Friday, July 16, 2021, in Abuja, FCT, said in accordance with Section 57 of ‘the Act’, the NCC has scheduled public inquiries in respect of the above-mentioned draft regulatory instruments to hold virtually at 11.00a.m. on the date stated  as follows:

1.) Annual Operating Levy Regulations public inquiry holds Tuesday, July 29, 2021, and 2.) Frequency Spectrum (Fees and Pricing, etc.) Regulations  public inquiry also takes place Tuesday, July 29.

The statement noted that interested stakeholders are, by this notice, invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the public inquiries on the said date and time.

Details of the virtual meeting will be forwarded to interested attendees prior to the Public Inquiries, and this notice supersedes the earlier notice issued in this regard, said Dr. Adinde.

The statement directs that all submissions must reach the NCC on or before Monday, July 19, 2021, and should be addressed to: The Executive Vice-Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Plot 423, Aguiyi-Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, and Attention: Director, Legal and Regulatory Services.
