The governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday ahead of the presidential election scheduled for February 25.

The APC Presidential Campaign Council revealed this on Thursday via a tweet that the discussion will focus on the redesigning of the naira and fuel scarcity.

The two issues have heightened Nigerians’ resentment with the ruling party.

“On the agenda of the governors are issues of the nationwide fuel scarcity and the new Naira notes that have caused social and economic stress for Nigerians especially small businesses who rely on daily cash transactions,” the post reads.

The redesigning of some bank notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the short deadline have pitted some members of the ruling party against the administration in recent weeks.

On Wednesday, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai accused some elements in the Presidency of conspiring against the ruling party’s electoral victory.

El-Rufai  also distanced the APC from some of the current administration’s policies.
