Nigerians from across diverse backgrounds have disagreed with Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on the claim that the state is leading its peers in the country in the area of fight against corruption.

Ganduje on Thursday during the International Ombudsman Day Celebration held Kano, beat his chest and ranked the state number in terms of fighting corruption in the country. He spoke through the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Lawan Musa Abdullahi, according to reports in the media (Not Sahelian Times).

But the claim didn’t go down well with many Nigerians, who reacted to it on the Twitter handle of Daily Trust newspapers, which reported the story.

“ for the avoidance of doubt, the @KanostateNg should publish the list of convicts, assets recovery and ongoing corruption trial. No more audio achievements.
Abubakar Sleiman replied.

“ @GovUmarGanduje, I beg you in the name of God to stop causing us more insult.” Turad Suraj responded another tweet.

Likewise, “Eh mana, ai only a tortoise knows where to bite a tortoise”
Dennis replied by saying “is that so? Interesting” and Lukman Said “

Many of the commentators challenged the Governor to prove what he said by telling Nigerians what the States anti-graft agency did with the video that shows him allegedly collecting dollars from contractors.
