Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has denied the report that there will be price hike of petrol in the country from February.
Earlier today, The Nation newspaper quoted one of the senior staff of the corporation, Dr. Kennie Obateru, saying that the report is untrue.
“I can assure you that there will be nothing like price hike of petrol and we have petrol that can last for more than 40 days in our reservoir,” said Dr. Obateru.
He also stated that the corporation has directed the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to start punishing marketers that are found hoarding the product.
“We have enough petrol and DPR should punish whoever is caught hoarding it,” he instructed.
