No one can force me to stop Sanusi-led Zikr in Lokoja- Gov. Yahaya Bello

Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has said that he was asked to halt the Zikr session scheduled to hold in Lokoja on Friday.

Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano State and the leader of Nigeria’s Tijjaniya movement, will preside over the Lokoja grand zikr.

“The caller asked me to stop the Sanusi-led zikr because another one will hold elsewhere,” Bello said in a viral video.

He stated unequivocally that he would not halt the zikr session led by the 14th Emir.

“I am not afraid of anything or anyone other than Allah and his prophet,” Bello declared.

He compared his personality to that of the 14th Emir, saying, “When I see the truth, I say it without fear of anything or anyone.”

Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly attempted to undermine Emir Sanusi’s authority as the leader of Tijjaniya in Nigeria by organizing a parallel zikr session.

His efforts have been met with criticism after the Grand Khalifa of the Tijaniya Sufi order, Sheikh Mahy Niasse, distanced himself from Kano sponsored zikr and endorsed Sanusi’s
