In the aftermath of recent attack on a Kaduna bound train by terrorists, which led to the death and abduction of several passengers, Governor Nasiru El-Rufai has told BBC Hausa that Kaduna State Government had written two letters to Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), warning it to stop night trips.
The reason behind the warning, the Governor claimed, was due to intel the government received about the unfortunate attack.
He also stated that it’s the intel about the attack that made Nigerian Air Force to create a base at Katari in order to forestall it; however, the Air Force’s helicopters would be ineffective at night.
SAHELIAN TIMES could not reach the NRC authority to hear their version of the story.
