The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has nabbed Abubakar Jibril, 33, for allegedly selling fake employment offers to unsuspecting jobseekers in the state. His partner, Tijjani Alaramma, an employee of Kano State Agency for Mass Education, is wanted for the same crime.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim Idris, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, which was made available on Wednesday, the said Jibril, who lives at Dorawar Na’abba in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of the state was apprehended on Monday after the command received information about his alleged selling of job offers.

“The suspect specialises in defrauding members of the public by promising to secure employment for them in the NSCDC and by downloading fake application forms of the NSCDC for them.

“He usually collects N10,000 each for every application form from members of the public and use to promise his victims that very soon, training would begin in Plateau State,” the statement said.

The statement also advised members of the public to be careful of such fraudsters, adding that they had no reason to pay for employment opportunities with the NSCDC.

According to Idris, investigation was ongoing and as soon as it was concluded, the suspect would be charged to court to face the consequences of his action, saying that the command had launched a manhunt for Tijjani Alaramma who is on the run.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment and determination to fishing out of criminally-minded people in the state.
