Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Danish offensive midfielder, Christian Eriksen.

The ex-Tottenham player has signed a contract, valid until 2025, club statement reveals:

“Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Christian Eriksen has joined the club, signing a contract until June 2025.”

On joining Man United, Eriksen said:

“Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started. I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.”

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while representing Denmark against Finland at the delayed Euro 2020 tournament, taking him out of competitive football a long period.

The 30-year old miraculously returned to football in February, this year, after signing a short-term contract with London club, Brenford.

United’s boss, Erik Ten Hag, was highly influential in persuading the Danish player to join the red devils after previously expressing his desire to play in the Champions League.

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me,” the Denmark international told Viaplay before his move to United.

Speaking about his new gaffer, Erik Ten Hag, the Denmark Intertional said:

“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. It is clear that he is a fantastic coach. Having spoken with him and learned about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future.”
