One dead, five injured in farmers/herdsmen clash in Kano

An attack by suspected herdsmen on a farm in Gotawa town, of Gwarzo Local Government of Kano State has resulted in the death of one person, while five people have sustained injuries.

According to reports, the conflict broke out on Wednesday after the farmers accused a group of herdsmen of driving their cattle into their fields and damaging their crops.

The Kano State Police Command through its spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, has confirmed the attack and stated that the five injured people are currently receiving medical attention at the Gwarzo General Hospital, while one person has been confirmed dead.

He also said that the command has launched an investigation into the attack.
