At least one person was killed and many others were injured in an early morning building collapse in Birnnwa Local Government Area, Jigawa State.
The police spokesman in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed that the unfortunate incident happened at around 5:47 a.m. on Saturday, adding that the victim died on the spot.
He said a police detective rushed to the scene and conveyed the victims to Birniwa General Hospital for examination and treatment.
Adam said that the police did not suspect any foul play as the building that collapsed was made of mud.
