The Governor of Kaduna state, Mal Nasir El-Rufai, has said that when he finally handed over to the next governor in 2023 he would leave the state and never return until the next Kaduna Book and Arts Festival (KABAFest) event.
El- Rufai who is attending the 2022 edition for the last time as a sitting governor told the audience that, “I have told the gubernatorial candidate of our party that I hope to attend KABAFest in September 2023, and it will be the first time I return to Kaduna after I handover.”
“Once I leave (office), I’m not coming back. I won’t return until the next KABAFEST. If he (next governor) wants me to visit Kaduna, he must win the election and ensure that KABAFest 5th edition happened,” he asserted.
El-Rufai also hinted that he may not campaign for any gubernatorial contender in the upcoming 2023 elections.
He insisted that Kaduna residents should rather vote for the candidates who will best address their problems.
El-Rufai confirmed that a lot of things happening in Kaduna are the work of young people and the future of the state depends on them.
