Osinbanjo meets with APC govs ahead of presidential ambition declaration

Nigerian Vice President Yemi Osibanjo is reportedly hosting members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) ahead of his declaration of interest on Monday.

Osibanjo is expected to declare his intention to run for President of Nigeria in a recorded video, unlike other aspirants. He will not participate in any formal event or public gathering.

The video will be shared on his social media accounts, and the campaign team will get to work right away, according to sources.

Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i (Kaduna) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) were the first to arrive at the vice president’s official residence, Akinola Aguda House in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Only a few invited governors and their aides are reportedly allowed to attend the meeting.

According to The Nation, the newspaper Oyetola that far away from Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for the lesser Hajj (Umrah), fuelling speculations the Governor’s car might have conveyed his Deputy Benedict Alabi.

Journalists are barred from accessing the vice president’s residence.
