Outcry as popular restaurants demolished in Zaria

An early morning demolition exercise in Samaru,m Zaria has left people outraged as popular student hotspots, Uncle Tees and Amsterderm restaurants, were demolished around 4am in the morning allegedly without any prior notice.

 

The restaurants were located opposite Samaru Campus, ABU Zaria, just under the pedestrian bridge built by Atiku Abubakar.

 

Uncle Tees restaurant tweeted that the owner and 90% of the staff are students of ABU Zaria and is their means of livelihood, which was just demolished.

 

They promised to visit KASUPDA office to get to the bottom of the matter.

 

A popular student handle, ABU connect tweeted, “OMG just woke up to see Uncle Tee’s and Amsterderm all demolished. These are businesses worth millions of naira, I’m short of words at this point. This is cruel.”

 

Another student, Sani Musa, tweeted, “Just woke up to the cruel news of the demolitions of ACafeee and uncle_teess restaurants. This is so bad to have happened to these innocent guys & without their prior knowledge. These guys have invested huge to beautify and make it easier for students to eat well. Bad!!!!

 

So far, there has not been an official statement from KASUPDA.
