Oyo killings: Arewa social media influencers evacuate northerners

A group of Arewa social media influencers has started evacuating stranded northerners from Oyo State, following the latest round of ethnic killings.

One of the organizers, told SAHELIAN TIMES in an interview that, so far about four Toyota buses have already evacuated some of the displaced northerners from Oyo state to their respective states in the North.

SAHELIAN TIMES reported that, thousands of northerners are left stranded at the palace of Sarkin Shasha, following the aftermath of the carnage that occurred at Shasha Market, Akinyele Local Government of Oyo State over the weekend.

“This is part of our contribution as social media influencers. We cannot sit and fold our arms, while our brothers and sister are being killed.”

He also added that, “Our major challenges is the fear of what might happen enroute to their destination, as the authorities remain reluctant to address the situation.”
