The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has promised to convey the grievances of the social media followers on growing insecurity bedeviling northern Nigeria, to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Pantami made the pledge while reacting to a tweet by one Twitter user named Boss Mustapha, who pleaded with him to intimate Buhari about the deteriorating security situation. This came at the heel of the recent mass killing of 43 farmers by Boko Haram in Borno State.

“Even in a movie, killing of 43 people is scary,” tweeted Mustapha, with the hashtag #ZabarmariMasaccre, while mentioning the handle of Dr. Pantami who is very active on social media.

The minister responded with, “We have been doing that, and we will continue to do in sha Allah. “I will also relate this to him, as I spoke with Gov. Zulum a moment ago. May Almighty Allah be merciful to them and bring an end to the calamity”.

Nigeria is facing a threat of collapse of the internal security with increasing incidences of banditry and kidnapping, on top of a decade-long insurgency in the Northeast.
