The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has urged the Federal Government to pay their withheld four-month salaries.

The union at its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja said that the payment delay had caused untold hardship to its members.

SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim,
while reading a communiqué at the end of the meeting also expressed concerns over the deplorable condition of state universities across the country.

He also urged stakeholders in the country to prevail on Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to release salaries of his members at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.

“NEC similarly urges the Federal Government to expedite the process of upholding its part of the terms of the agreement on which the strike action was suspended,” he said.
