Chairman Kano State Independent independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka said one of the strongest opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) vow to participate in Kano Local Government elections.
Professor Sheka made this known to journalists after declaring open a two day training workshop for civil society organizations on conduct of LG elections in Kano.
Sheka said “As far as I am concerned PDP is participating in the LG elections”.
But when asked which faction of PDP is partaking in the elections he refused to disclose the faction of the faction participating in the elections.
PDP threatened that it will take legal action if the party’s logo is included in the ballot papers, Professor Sheka said court action is a normal thing when it comes to elections.
He also said polling units will be open from 8 Am and the distribution of sensitive materials have already gone far.
