The zoning committee of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is expected to announce the party’s arrangement for the 2023 presidency on Tuesday.

The 37-member committee was set by the opposition party with the mandate of jettisoning its zoning arrangement to allow its presidential aspirants to battle for the ticket of the party at the May 28-29 primaries.

Presidential aspirants have embarked on consultations and networking to ensure that the committee’s decision would be favourable to them.

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Sokoto Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and his Bauchi counterpart Bala Mohammed have been meeting with party stakeholders to discuss options and debate the formula.

The trio has in the past few weeks intensified the push for the adoption of a consensus Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate from the North.

They were in Markurdi where they met with Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to market the consensus option. They later held similar talks with Governor Darius Ishaku the Taraba State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

The governors, and former president of the senate who has bought presidential nomination forms, have also met with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
