The police in Abuja have confirmed the arrest of five suspects in connection with the murder of Sadiq, the son of Kano South Senator, Kabiru Gaya.

The spokesperson of FCT police command, Josephine Adeh,  while confirming the arrest said the five suspects are in police custody for investigation.

“Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and investigation is ongoing. The outcome of the investigation will be communicated subsequently,” Adeh said.

Sadiq a legal practitioner and staff of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) was killed in an alleged plot by his friend in Abuja on Tuesday, the police revealed.

The key suspect Abdul, who is the son of former Clerk of the National Assembly together with two other friends, were the first to break the news of Sadiq’s death to this family.

They  transported the corpse to a hospital, alleging that he drowned in a pool in a hotel.

However, a detailed examination of the deceased body by family members revealed some injuries on his body and his head bloated with blood gushing out of his lips, raising the possibility that he was murdered.

Worried, the family reported the incident to the police.

The family felt that he had been attacked by Abdul and his friends leading to his death.
