Police arrest APC chieftain with 29 PVCs in Dawakin Tofa

The police in Kano have arrested a 45-year-old for allegedly buying and hoarding permanent voter’s cards in Hayin Hago, Dawakin Tofa Local Area of Kano State.

The suspect identified as Tasiu  Abdullahi Hayin Hago who is allegedly a card-carrying of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was arrested by the police after being reportedly found in possession of 29 copies of PVCs belonging to unsuspecting members of the community.

SAHELIAN TIMES gathered that the suspect alleged that he was assigned by the son of Kano State Governor, Abba Ganduje, who is also the APC candidate for Dawakin Tofa, Rimingado, and Tofa Federal constituency.

“Our candidate Abba wants the Voter’s cards for the empowerment of N10, 000 to people who agree to vote for him, kindly give me the PVCs to continue my assignment” the the suspect alleged in his response documented in the case file.

In an interview with our reporter, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

“Yes, the case is with us, and Tasiu Abdullahi Hayin Hago was arrested in Dawakin Tofa and subsequently transferred to the State CID for further investigation,” said the police spokesperson.
