The Kano State Police command said that a lady identified as Maryam was among the 4 kidnappers arrested in Kano, last Friday.
SAHELIAN TIMES on Saturday had exclusively broken the news that police have surrounded a house in Jaba village of Ungoggo Local Government and arrested suspected kidnappers living there.
Kano state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, while confirming the SAHELIAN TIMES report said that the police have succeeded in arresting the suspected kidnappers.
Kiyawa highlighted that 3 men and a lady who is also a kidnapper were arrested in the operation.
Kiyawa also said that two of the suspected kidnappers were indigenes of Zamfara.
He added that the command has discovered that Maryam hired the house from a caretaker at the rate of N600, 000 per year.
Maryam told the police that she ventured into the kidnapping business after her husband, who was a cattle rustler, was killed in Zamfara.
