Police arrest top Kano Hisbah Commander in hotel with married woman

Kano State Hisbah Command has confirmed a story that the police in Nomansland area have arrested one of Hisbah’s top officers named Sani Nasidi Uba Remo, allegedly in a hotel room with a married woman at Sabon Gari.

A reliable source from the Nomansland Police Division informed Sahelian Timea that they arrested Remo after receiving a complaint from the woman’s husband. The arrest was made while Remo was in the hotel room at Sabongari with the woman.

A Deputy Commander of Hisbah went to the police station to bail the arrested commander, which was initially rejected by the police but after series of negotiations, the police referred the case to the Hisbah headquarters for proper investigation.

In his response, the Commander General of Kano Hisbah, Sheikh Muhammad Haroun Ibn Sina, has confirmed that they were shocked by the story. He, however, explained that, he has set up a committee to unravel the circumstances surrounding the allegation, and report back to him within 3 days before taking the necessary action.

Sani Remo was the OC in charge of arresting prostitutes before his transfer to anti bara (begging) unit of the command.
