Police in Nasarawa state have arrested a senior lecturer with Federal University, Lafia, Prof. Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl.
In a viral video, Professor Ayokhai was seen stripping and assaulting a 20-year-old girl, identified as Blessing over an alleged disagreement between her and his daughter.
In the said video, the suspect, was seen along with his brother, Praise Shola, and other members of their family charged to Blessing’s home to enforce a brutal treatment.
They beat up Blessing and forced her into a car, drove to an unknown location where Professor Fred allegedly used scissors to cut off her clothes.
SAHELIAN TIMES gathered that the disagreement started when Blessing confronted the Professor’s daughter Nuella, after she found out her boyfriend’s number in her phone and asked to delete it but she refused.
In another account, it was gathered that Blessing confronted the Professor’s daughter inside a room, beating her up while demanding that she delete the man’s phone number immediately.
Nuella, it was gathered refused to obliged her request thereby resulting in a barrage of slaps and blows.
Sources at Nasarawa State Police Command said Professor Fred has been apprehended and investigation is ongoing.
