Heavily armed men suspected to be armed robbers have attacked the residence of the APC chieftain and former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Alh. Faruk Adamu Aliyu, last night.
The assailants forcefully gained entry into the house and injured the guardmen stationed at the gate. They tied the guardsmen but their efforts to reach Aliyu’s family was unsuccessful when the police arrived at the scene on time and foiled their attempt.
The Kano state police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna, corroborated the story in his interview with newsmen.
Hajiya Zuwaira Aliyu, wife of Faruk Aliyu, in a Facebook post alleged that it was an assassination attempt on her husband but God saved him.
