Jigawa State Police Command has arrested four women and 10 other suspected kidnappers in a raid at Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of the State.
The Command spokesperson, Lawan Adam, has confirmed the story in a phone interview with SAHELIAN TIMES.
Those arrested include Suleman Abdullahi, 25, Takaya Sulaiman Bello, 25, Awalu Mohammed, 28, Mujittafa Mmaman, 25, and Babandi Mohammed, 28.
Others are Musa Mamman, 15, Yakubu Muhammad, 20, Ardo Mamman, 40 among others.
The operation, which was codenamed “Operation flush out,” was successful in recovering deadly weapons from the suspects.
Among the confiscated weapons were three AK47 rifles, nine (9) magazines, and three hundred and eight (308) live 7.6mm ammunition, as well as one burnt General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with two empty chains.
According to state police command operations, three criminal hideouts were raided in Sule-Tankarkar LGA villages of Dajin Maizuwo, Dan Gwanki, and Yandamo.
Some kidnapping victims were also rescued unhurt in the operation, SAHELIAN TIMES gathered.
