The Police in Kano State have warned the politicians in the state against alleged plans to disrupt the governorship and state assembly elections on Saturday.

The police said they would not fold their arms and watch disgruntled elements truncate the relative peace in the state.

They therefore warned that they would deal with anyone found trying to disrupt the relative peace in the state.

Residents were also urged by the police command to tread cautiously and report any indication of unrest.

The state’s chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)had earlier this month alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was planning to use thugs and some police personnel to disrupt the governorship election in the state.

According to the party’s state chairman, Umar Doguwa, the APC was planning the attacks on its members because “it is facing the reality of imminent defeat at the polls.”

The police, however, did not clarify which of the parties intended to sabotage the upcoming polls.
