Resident Doctors suspend nationwide strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors(NARD) has suspended its nationwide industrial strike.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NARD Secretary-General, Dr. Bello Abdulrasheed, after a meeting with the executives of the association.

According to the statement, the suspension will effect from 8 am of Monday 12th April 2021. However, those in Isolation units are to resume 8 am this morning due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic

“Meanwhile, NARD will further continue negotiations and follow-up to ensure implementation of all contents of the signed MOA, ”the statement read.

The doctors have been on strike for 10 days for the government failure to pay their special allowances among other reasons.
