Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Ahmad Bamalli, has decried the rising incidents of banditry, describing the murder of a pregnant woman in Zaria as worrisome.

He said the country is passing through a difficult period, noting with optimism that the problem is, however, not peculiar to Nigeria alone.

He said the problem is global, stating that with concerted efforts of all stakeholders, it would be overcome.

He stressed the need for synergy and collaboration among security agencies and warned against rivalry.

The emir made the comment when he received the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Godwin Miebi, on Thursday.

The emir, however, commended the corps for its performance in his domain despite challenges of inadequate manpower and equipment.

In his remarks, Miebi said Security agencies can hardly succeed without the support of members of the traditional institution.

According to him, it is in recognition of this fact that he visited the palace to seek his usual support and members of your council.

“We are contributing our quota in synergy with other sister agencies to ensure that the challenge of insecurity bedeviling the state is drastically reduced,” he told the emir.
