Russia-Ukraine war: 411 Nigerian fleeing students arrive in Abuja

A total of 411 Nigerians have arrived in Abuja after fleeing Ukraine amid Russian invasion.

The first batch of students arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 7:11 a.m. on Friday via Max Air.

SAHELIAN TIMES reported that the Federal Government on Wednesday, approved $8.5 million for the immediate evacuation of 5,000 Nigerians stranded as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war.

The evacuees were received at the Abuja airport by Edward Adedokun, director of search and rescue for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as well as representatives from the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
