The return of Sani Dangote’s remains from the United States was halted on Tuesday due to a lack of legal documents.

The remains were expected in Kano for burial on Tuesday, according to a family source.

However, it was learned that the delay was caused by paperwork that must be completed before a body is allowed to move from one country to another.

The body of late Sani; however, would arrive in Nigeria in the early hours of Wednesday against the planned arrival on Tuesday, according to the source.

“We’re in continual contact with them, and based on our discussions, some paperwork has caused them to arrive in Nigeria later than intended.”

“It is clear to us that due to the delay, we are expecting the body to arrive Nigeria in the early hours of Wednesday for burial. The burial arrangement will be announced after its arrival,” said the source.

The deceased was the younger brother of Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
