A Sharia court, sitting in Kano, has ordered for the immediate arrest of a famous singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, on Tuesday.

The presiding judge, Khadi Ibrahim Sarki Yola, gave the order after the singer has refused to appear before the court to defend the allegations filed against him.

The court had earlier summoned the popular musician to appear before it on December 22, 2020, over a case accusing him of illegal camping and hiding of a married woman.

The husband of the woman filed a complaint before the Shari’a court seeking for redress.

The complainant claimed that Rarara had cast his housewife in his music video ‘Jihata, Jihata ce’, after which her whereabouts remains unknown.
