Sokoto Commissioner of Agriculture dies at 62

Sokoto State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Arziki Tureta, died after a brief illness at the age of 62.

The late Sokoto State Commissioner for Agriculture body, Muhammad Arzika Tureta, has been laid to rest.

The funeral prayer held at Tureta Local government area, the country home of the deceased, was attended by the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, his Deputy.

Tureta represented Tureta local government area in the Sokoto State House of Assembly and Bodinga/DangeShuni/Tureta, Federal Constituency.

The ex-lawmaker served as commissioner during former Governor Aliyu Wamakko’s administration for eight years.

He was reappointed by the incumbent governor, Tambuwal, for an additional six years.

Tureta who survived by two wives and seven children will be buried in his hometown of Lambar Tureta in Sokoto.

Reports have it that he is the third Commissioner to die in one year under the administration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
