Sokoto lawmaker kills armed robber

A member of House of Representatives, representing Gwadabawa Local Government in Sokoto state, Abdullahi Salame, confirmed that he had killed a suspected armed robber in his house at Sokoto.

In his interview with newsmen in Sokoto, Salame said he shot the arm robber and he shared pictures on his social media handle.

He said the suspected robbers stormed his house in Bado village, Sokoto state at around 3am on Friday and he fought them back, killed one and injured many of them.

Salame is a member of All Progressive Congress APC, and the Chairman, House committee on poverty eradication programs. He was also Speaker, Sokoto State assembly from 2007 to 2011.

Sokoto state police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Sadiq confirmed the incident and said police arrived at the place after they received a call from Salame.

He also asked members of the community to help the police with relevant information about the robbers and the masterminds behind the attack
