Students lynch female colleague over alleged blasphemy in Sokoto

Enraged students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Wamako in Sokoto State went on a rampage and burned to death a female colleague over alleged blasphemy on the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh)on campus.

The students reportedly overpowered college security personnel, who took her into custody after the story of alleged blasphemy went round the campus.

The school’s administration has issued a statement announcing the school’s immediate closure due to the fracas that erupted following the death of the victim identified simply as Deborah.

Sokoto police’s spokesman, Sanusi Abubakar, has declined comments about the incident.
