Shortly after his release from prison, the Yoruba separatist leader, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has been handed over to the leader of the Yoruba Nation groups, Prof Banji Akintoye.

The news has been confirmed by The Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide on Monday.

Igboho was arrested in July 2021 at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport in Cotonou while on his way to Germany.

The 49-year-old agitator and his wife Rapo have been detained in a prison facility in the Republic of Benin.

The release of the activist was described by the Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide group as a victory of truth over darkness in Yoruba Land.
