Tension in Abuja as Guards Brigade confirms terror attack on its men

Tension grips the residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja following the confirmation by the Guard Brigade that terrorists attacked its men resulting in recording casualties on the side of its elite officers.

The Guard’s spokesperson, Captain Godfrey Anebi, while confirming the attack said troops were already combing the general areas to ensure that no more terrorists is hibernating around the area.

A captain and two soldiers have been killed by terrorists  according a report by the Daily Trust Newspaper.

The captain and the two soldiers were attached to the 7 Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

According to the paper, the troops were on routine patrol of the Bwari-Kubwa area when they were attacked suddenly.”

The incident occurred barely 24 hours after the terrorist named President Muhammad Buhari, Malam Nasir Rufai and other government officials as the next targets.

The primary duty of the Guards Brigade is to provide security for the nation’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, especially the Presidential Villa.

The report further states that the ambush was forcefully repelled by the Guards Brigade troops who restored sanity to the area immediately.

The wounded soldiers were immediately evacuated to the Military Hospital for immediate medical attention.

A signal on the attack reads that the Law School in Bwari may be targeted for attack.

SAHELIAN TIMES reported that the Federal Government ordered the immediate closure of the FGC Kwali, on Monday following the attack on a community in Kwali, near the Federal Government College (FGC), in Sheda village, on the Abuja-Lokoja highway
