Tight security as Buhari visits Kano today

Security, in Kano State, has been beefed up ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit today.

Soldiers have been stationed along all major roads that the president will commute.

Also, heavily armed security personnel, including soldiers, police, civil defence and DSS are strategically stationed there.

SAHELIAN TIMES further gathered that shops and other business centres, situated around areas where Buhari is visiting, have been completely shut down.

President Buhari is expected to be in Kano today to inaugrate project initiated by the Federal Government and also unveil Kano State Independent Power Project.

Recall that Ganduje had earlier in an interactive session with critical stakeholders including scholars, legislators, political leaders and the business community in the state, revealed that the his government had requested the President to postpone the trip, saying that the state was deeply concerned about the hardship principally induced by the ongoing cash swap from old to redesigned notes.

He said the decision was taken to avoid any unforeseen circumstance.

However, Despite Ganduje’s objection, President Buhari insisted on going ahead with the Monday visit.
