The former Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sunusi II has been appointed as the new Tijaniyah Caliph in Nigeria.
The leader of the Sufi order movement, Sheikh Makki Cisse, while confirming the position to the former Emir Sunusi said that, the founder of the movement late Ibrahim Nyass first appointed late Muhammadu Sunusi I, who was also a former Emir of Kano and grand father to the just appointed Caliph.
There has since been speculations of the appointment which confirmed at the Maulud celebration on Friday in Sokoto.
